It’s an achievement in itself that the creators of Furious 7 were able to go on and complete the blockbuster, even after the death of such a pivotal character.

And the CGI for Paul Walker’s final scenes in the movie have reportedly been done so well that you can’t even tell which ones were filmed before and after his death.

Universal have declined to give away the tricks that they used in order to breathe life back into Walker’s character, but rumour has it that Peter Jackson’s Weta Digital visual effects company was asked to complete the extremely complex task.


This sort of method has been used in the past, using 2D compositing, visual effects studio The Mill, London, helped bring actors from Gladiator and The Sopranos back to life that had passed away.

It’s also known that Caleb Walker helped film certain parts of Furious 7 as a body double for his late brother – he looks like Paul. A lot.

Either way, we know it’s going to be an emotional final farewell, and we can’t wait to see the finished product.
