It may sound like the start of a joke but the friendship between Roxy the vixen and Blink the tawny owl is no laughing matter.
The pair struck up an unlikely friendship at Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary, in Nuneaton, after Blink was separated from his nest and handed in to the rescue centre. And when he met Roxy, a ten-year-old tame fox, he found a firm friend without ruffling any feathers.
Sanctuary owner Geoff Grewcock said: “It is very unusual but we let Roxy meet Blink just to see how they would get on and the owl actually jumped on Roxy.
